- How much will a HomeVidz.com listing cost if I shoot my own home video tour?
- We charge a one-time posting fee of just $30, no matter who shoots it! For that one, low price your 3-5 minute home tour will remain active on HomeVidz.com until your home sells. You owe us nothing more. Ever!
- Do I need a home video tour to list with HomeVidz.com?
- No, you don’t need a video to add a listing. But since narrated, home video tours are what set us apart from all the other guys (and what will make your home showing experience a lot less of a hassle) we do require a video within 2 weeks of your listing being posted. After that time the listing will be automatically deleted. So after you've entered your home in our database, shoot a video tour and write your unique listing number on the tape and drop it in the mail along with a check for $30. We'll do the rest.
- Will you come out and shoot the video for me if I don’t own a video camcorder?
- If you don’t want to do it yourself, we suggest you find a friend or relative who will do it for you. We have complete instructions for shooting a HomeVidz narrated, videotour on our “Getting Started” page. We’ve heard freelancers will shoot these videos for as little as $50 but unfortunately legal concerns prohibit us from suggesting anyone.
- Are you affiliated with any real estate company?
- HomeVidz.com is not affiliated with any real estate firm or it’s agents. We urge anyone selling a home, whether it be the homeowner or a real estate agent, to use our service, but we are completely independent.
- If I list with HomeVidz.com now and then decide to use a real estate agent later can I change or remove the ad?
- Any changes in your HomeVidz.com listing are entirely up to you. You can access your listing at any time to change the price, contact information, etc.
- Do I need to show my home’s address in the listing information on my HomeVidz.com listing page?
- No! That is entirely optional. The only thing we require is a contact name (first name will do), a contact phone number, and an e-mail address, anything else is up to you.
- How long can HomeVidz videotours be?
- We suggest 3-4 minutes, but to keep the price of our service low, we must insist that they be no longer than 5 minutes long. Videos substantially longer than the 5-minute limit will be trimmed to that length. We won't cut the narration off in mid sentence but will find an appropriate spot to end the video.
- Does HomeVidz.com advertise?
Not yet, but we hope to put up billboards in targeted markets soon directing people to check out our website.
Right now we depend on home sellers to spread the word about our service. The easiest way to do that is by including a reference to a HomeVidz file at the end of a newspaper ad, i.e. “...virtual home tour # 921345 at www.homevidz.com”.
- Is HomeVidz listed with Internet search engines?
- A search of "Home Video Tours" puts HomeVidz near the top of the list on all major search engines.
- How many visitors are coming to the HomeVidz website?
- A lot. Since we began test marketing we have had more than a million file downloads!
- Can you provide me with a yardsign?
- Absolutely. We provide a high visibility, professionally printed yard sign for just $10 extra (that include shipping and handling.) It has a place for your unique listing number so people who drive by your home can take your HomeVidz tour before they ever call to schedule an in-person showing.
